Thame Academy Development travelled to Oxhey Jets to play in the first round of the Tactic Cup. The team were hoping to continue their unbeaten start to the season and welcomed back Jack Wood after a lengthy spell out following an ankle injury.
The team were in no doubt the game would be difficult as their opponents, who play in the division East league, had enjoyed a positive start to their league campaign.

The game kicked off and the open exchanges demonstrated that the pitch could play a huge part on the outcome of the game.
Thame opened the scoring on 20 minutes when a neat interchange of passes between Max Hallam and Toby Ward released Jay Hatcher who played an inch perfect pass to Kieron Moreton just inside the box on the left hand side. His touch was inch perfect to set up the chance, and he made no mistake in smashing the ball in the near post.
The second goal came on 40 minutes when George Butler crossed from the right hand side and a defender got a bit muddled up and handled in the area, giving the referee no option but to award a spot kick.
Kieron Moreton stepped up and comfortably converted from 12 yards.

Half time 2 - 0

Thame Kicked off in the second half and it was evident the home team were given a bit of a roasting at half time as they started roughing some of the Thame players up with some lively challenges the referee decided to turn a blind eye to. But, Thame defended resolutely and saw out each attack and dangerous play from their opponents and, if Kieron Moreton would have had a bit more composure, he could have added to the 2 goals he scored in the first half.
