Fantastic team performance pays dividend

Thame boys went into the U16 League cup final very much the underdogs playing against a Hughendon Valley team who were currently undefeated in the league.
Both teams started the game with a fast pace that you would expect for a cup final and Hughendon thought they had gone ahead from a corner however the goal was disallowed for a push in the penalty area. It was a long ball forward from Tom Hall which saw top scorer Dan Collins take the ball on and with a fierce strike from 20 yards make it 1-0.
The second half began with Hughenden pushing for an equaliser however the Thame defence stood firm. A couple of world class saves from Thame goal keeper Eddie Hart ensured that the score remained and Thame nearly went 2-0 up when Collins went close when one on one with the keeper.
Thame worked hard and showed great discipline to secure the well deserved win.
A great performance and team effort from every player
