United secured another three points on Tuesday evening with a 2-1 win against Highmoor Ibis, a result that moves them up to sixth in the table.

From the outset United were on the front foot and took the lead on six minutes with a training ground move. The ball quickly found its way out to Calvin Evans on the wide right, who hit a perfectly flighted cross to Ben Gray at the far post whose header back across Tebby in the Highmoor goal and in to the far corner gave the visiting keeper no chance.

After the goal, United continued to press with any Highmoor threat (on the counter-attack) well marshalled by the centre-back pairing of Henry Owen and Ellis Hercules. The lead was, however, extended in the 25th minute when United were awarded a free kick on the half way line that Owen delivered in to the box. With Tebby off his line and looking to collect the cross, Gledhill nipped in to flick a header over the advancing Tebby. At 2-0, the visitors began to have more possession, and they pulled a goal back on 44 minutes when, following a foul, Michael Parker hit a 22 yard free kick high in to the roof of the net.

The second half started in a similar vein to the first with United enjoying the bulk of possession and, inside the first ten minutes, they created numerous chances, the best of which fell to Gledhill whose effort went over the bar from close range. On 65 minutes a Ben Gray cross from the right evaded the well-placed Gledhill, only for the ball to ricochet off the retreating defender and against the woodwork before being cleared to safety. The remainder of the game was more even, with the visitors pressing in search of an equaliser, but Farrow in the home goal was rarely troubled.

United:
Farrow, Evans, Pykett, Hercules, Owen, Kedzierski (Lynch), Connelly, Ashworth, Gray (West), Gledhill, Ricketts.
