Thame Rangers travelled to Premier League opposition on Tuesday and remain in The Hellenic League Floodlit Cup after a great 3-2 victory. TR keeper Dan Bowker pulled out of the game an hour before KO after failing a fitness test and Tye Budziszewski stepped in.
As much as TR started brightly it was HG that took an early lead on 15 mins.
TR were reduced to 10 men on the half hour mark after Jake Desouza received his second yellow. HG then extended their lead on the stroke of half time leaving TR with a mountain to climb. Then first half injuries to Patrick Buston, Jordan Davis and George Ashworth meant all three needed replacing for the second half. A new formation and the introduction of three fresh legs proved the difference as TR soon got back in the game through a tap in from Dan Hatton on 50 mins. Soon after Adie Smith scored the pick of the games goals with a left footed screamer from 25 yards as he cut in from the right flank on 55 mins. On 65 mins TR got their noses in front for the first time. Luke Hurley smashed home from close range after a good cross in from the left. That completed the scoring and a great result for TR.

Team:
Budziszewski, Smith, Ja Desouza, Je Desouza, Davis (Elliott), Murray, Evans, Edwards-Giraud, Buston (Hurley), Hatton, Ashworth (Jonston).
