Rangers lose out on day to forget
Narrow defeat for Thame U18s
On a Sunday most will want to forget Rangers were edged out of a fiercely competetive and at times bad tempered game.
From a footballing point of view, this was another demonstration of just how evenly matched most teams in Under 18 Division One are this season. Without ever producing their best form Thame were always in with a chance of taking something from what is a difficult away fixture.
There were times when only the goalkeeping skills of Eddie Hart kept Rangers in touch with their hosts but a big improvement in the second half that saw goals from Jake Dann and Alex McStay looked likely to earn a point until Harefield's third and clinching goal.
Unfortunately following the final whistle there were unfortunate scenes including a completely unacceptable assault on a Rangers player. Repercussions may follow when the League study the referee's report.
Squad: Eddie Hart, Tom Howard, Jordan Baker, Tom Darling, Ed Hickman, Ollie Gibson, George Bennetts , Alex McStay, Cameron McLaren, Jack Howland, Sam Muscroft, Jake Dann and Matt Wigglesworth.
