Reserve Team

Thame Reserves will be playing in the Hellenic League Div 2 (E) for 2010/11

Managed by Richard Searl and his Assistant Martin Saulsbury

The Reserves continued their unbeaten start to the season with two straight wins following their 1-1 draw with Grendon Underwood. Matt West scored Thame’s goal and was unlucky not to double his tally with a chance in the last minute. Thame followed this up with a fine victory over RAF High Wycombe, West again and Tom Hoskins were on target for the Reds.

On Saturday Thame travelled to Brackley Sports and produced a good team performance against a physical Brackley side. Thame moved the ball around really well and played some good football. Mark Jones back from a pre-season injury was impressive and scored a well worked move with a fine glancing header at the near post. West nearly made it two 10 minutes into the second half when a ball into the box was met firmly by the young striker but his header just went wide, Thame however continued to press forward and were rewarded when Rantle picked up the ball 25yards from goal and curled a shot into the top corner. Brackley managed to pull back a goal in the dying minutes but Thame defended really well to secure the game. Craig Connell and Matt Gibbs were impressive in defence throughout the match.
