*** INTERVIEW with New Signing Midfielder Greg Hackett ***

Brought to you by 3B Vehicle Hire & Servicing, Haddenham & Aylesbury www.3bhire.co.uk – The Official Media Sponsor of Thame United FC

A massive thank you to Greg speaking with us. Greg has already shown his class on the ball and with getting on the scoresheet in pre-season.

Greg is sponsored by Jake Collinge Planning Consultancy.

*** QUESTION TIME ***
What were your reasons to join us at Thame United for 2019/20?
GREG – I joined Thame because they are a club going in the right direction with the facilities to be able to push on. I’ve also played with a lot of the lads before and know that there is a lot of quality in the squad.

What have you been doing before pre-season thus far?
GREG – I’ve joined late in pre-season but I’ve been getting good minutes to make sure we’re fit for the first league game.

What position will you be lining up in for 2019/20? What clubs have you played for previously?
GREG - I’m comfortable on either wing but I don’t mind playing up top if needed. I spent most of last season at Didcot where the side also just missed out on the play offs.

Who is your all-time favourite football player and why?
GREG – Ronaldo at Man United because he won my favourite team a lot of trophies.

How did you first get involved in football?
GREG – I’ve always played football for as long as I can remember.

If you could watch any football match in history which would you choose and why?
GREG - England win the World Cup in 1966.

What are your thoughts about results in pre-season so far? Which game have you enjoyed the most and why?
GREG - Again I joined late so I’ve only played 2 games but I enjoyed the Beaconsfield game the most. We were able to beat a team from a higher league and compete with them all over the pitch, which shows the strength of our team.

What are your personal goals for the 2019/20 season?
GREG – The main goal is to get into the play offs and hopefully chip in with goals and assists to help achieve that.

What are you looking forward to most ahead of the new season in August?
GREG - I’m excited for the first game so we can hopefully get the season started with a tough away win at Bedford

Your goal against Beaconsfield was spectacular, what has been the best goal of your career to date? Can the fans look forward to more goals from Greg Hackett when the league campaign gets underway?
GREG – That was probably up there with one of my best recently. Hopefully I can score a good amount of goals and assists which is my job as a winger.

With attendances increasing, more sponsorship and more media coverage what does this mean to you as a new player to the club?
GREG - I think it’s all positive and will help the club move in the direction in which it wants to go.
