Winners! An amazing end to a season of fantastic football

Thame under 11 Youth had a season of some upheaval with changes to the coaching team and playing personnel, but the team came together to produce a string of brilliant performances in the end of season tournaments.

Semi-finalists in Chesham, runners up at Manorcroft the team produced a magnificent series of matches to win the Thame tournament, taking the final on the second series of penalties, after extra time. This performance was typical of the resilience, team work and high tempo passing game the team demonstrated throughout. The team also benefited from a great defence and superb keeper in Ollie Dale.

There were several excellent performances from the team throughout the season with many of the boys being invited to premier league academies on the basis of their performances across the end of season tournaments.

Thame Youth were the best placed home team in the South Bucks Mini Soccer Fair Play league, coming 3rd out of 44 teams. This is testament to the fact that not only were the team successful, but they also played (and were coached and supported) in the right way.

Player of the season was Felix Horner who was the most improved player and immense at the Penn & Tyler tournament. Thanks to Russell for stepping in and up as coach and helping the boys begin to fulfil their considerable potential. And thanks to the many parents who helped out over the year.
