Aylesbury United vs Thame United Match Preview 19 March

Martin Pacetti16 Mar - 20:19

Midweek action as Thame take on Aylesbury United for the first this season

Thame United hit the road again this Tuesday night when they travel to Chesham to face near neighbours Aylesbury United in the Pitching In Southern League Central Division One, this match was due to be played back on the 10 February but was postponed due to a waterlogged pitch and is the first meeting of the two teams this season. Last season there were met three meetings between the two teams twice in the league and in the Extra Preliminary round of the FA Cup, with Thame coming out on top on all three occasions without conceding a goal. This season, Aylesbury have seen a change of manager with Paul Batchelor taking the helm in October but have been hovering around the relegation zone for a large part of the season, On Saturday the had an important win against Enfield FC 4 - 0 who were sitting one place below them and have stretched the gap between the two sides to 8 points, so have pulled a little further away from the relegation zone. Aylesbury also have a number of former Thame players in the Aylesbury ranks including Rocko Tamplin, Fabian Garcia and Hayden Beadle

Meanwhile Thame continue their push for a play off spot after an impressive win against Milton Keynes Irish by 6 - 0 in which Louis Walsh scored five goals, they followed it up on Saturday with a hard fought away victory at Stotfold by two goals to one, in a game of few chances and little quality goals from Jack Tutton and Harry Alexander were enough to secure the 3 points, which keeps the team outside the play of places on goal difference but this game will be their game in hand over Hertford who are on the same points and Biggleswade FC who are two points ahead, a victory could take Thame up to fourth place.

Kick Off at the Meadow is 19:45
