Thame United travel to Bedfordshire this Saturday to face Barton Rovers in the Pitching In Southern League Central Division One.

Last season, the sides met at the Winton Haulage Stadium in October, where Thame produced an impressive performance to come away with a 4-0 victory, scoring three late goals to secure a convincing win.
In the return match in January at the ASM Stadium, it was a much closer affair, with the scores tied at 1-1 at the end of the game. Barton took the lead early in the second half before Mark Riddick equalised not long afterwards.

Since 2017, the two sides have met 16 times, with honours even. Both teams have won five times, with the other six games ending in draws. The biggest score came in April 2018, when Thame won 5-2. After finishing ninth last season, it has been a mixed start to the current campaign for the Rovers. They currently sit in 16th place, with four wins, three draws and eight defeats from their 15 games. Last time out, they narrowly lost 1-0 away at high-flying Didcot Town, conceding a late goal.
Meanwhile, Thame made it three wins in a row with a comfortable 4-0 victory over Milton Keynes Irish on Tuesday night. In truth, the scoreline should have been much more, with Thame creating 31 chances during the match.

This followed an impressive away victory at Potters Bar on Saturday. Thame now sit in 12th place with 19 points from 10 games, although they have as many as five games in hand on some of the teams above them and have scored on average 2.4 goals per game.

Players to watch
Rawn Searle is the Rovers’ leading scorer this season and scored against Thame last season, while Harry Alexander has scored 13 goals in all competitions so far.
