Details of Matches Played on 01 September 2012

FA Vase:

Seven teams from the Uhlsport Hellenic League took part in the 1st Qualifying Round of the FA Vase, producing a mixed bag of results. Ascot United forgot this week’s traumas of the FA Cup for a short while to record a 1-0 win over Slimbridge through a Lee Boon goal. Cheltenham Saracens beat Abingdon Town 5-1 with goals from Ethan Moore (2), Simon Slender Jordan Bryan and Elliott Kennedy. Ben Elwood scored for Abingdon Town. Wootton Bassett Town were soundly beaten 6-0 away to GE Hamble. Shrivenham became the second Hellenic club to beat Hartley Wintney in quick succession winning 3-0 with goals from Bradley Gill (2) and Josh Fowler. Henley Town were no match for Amersham losing 0-5. Highworth Town and Calne drew 1-1 after extra time and will replay next Wednesday (5th Sept) meaning Highworth’s scheduled fixture with Slimbridge next Tuesday will have to be arranged for another date. Darren Smart scored the Highworth goal with Tindle equalising for Calne. Clanfield pushed premier division Thame Utd all the way before going down 2-3 having put up a brave performance. Mitchell Meredith (2) and Dan West scored for Thame with Steve Olphert and Ben Williams scoring for Clanfield.

Premier Division

Premier Division activity was once again limited to just six matches due to FA Vase ties. Binfield beat Flackwell Heath 3-2 with goals from Josh Millar (2) and Jemel Johnson. Louis Cordice and Stuart Macllellan scored for Flackwell. Wantage edged Highmoor Ibis 4-3 with goals from Richard Claydon (2), Tom Rowe and Tony Joyce. Liam Ferdinand ( 2) and Adam Theophanides scoring for Highmoor. Kidlington went down 1-3 at home to Wokingham & Embrook for whom Chris Wateridge,Luke Lee and Callum Eagle were all on target. Sam Fincher replied for Kidlington. Oxford City Nomads beat Holyport 5-3 with goals from Corey Forbes, Marvin Martin, Andrew Styles, Daryl Harris and Adam Lovegrove. Holyport’s goals were scored by Gariff Rogue, Jamie West and Matt Rolfe. Ardley United beat Reading Town 1-0 courtesy of a Jason Costello goal. The day’s best attended match (180) saw Witney Town beat Marlow 5-1 with goals from ben Moses (2), Conor McDonagh, Adam Morris and Nick Thorne. Ian Davies scored his first goal for Marlow following his recent transfer from Binfield.

Division 1 West

Carterton beat Malmesbury 3-1 with goals from Lewis Brownhill, Chris Mills and Adam Loveridge. Kevin Reape scored Malmesbury’s goal. Hook Norton beat Lydney Town 4-2. Sam grant and Mark Dennis with a hat trick were the scorers for Hook Norton with matt Timmins and jarred Liddington replying for Lydney. Lamborn Sports beat Fairford Town with a last minute goal from Liam Griffin. Earlier on Russell Benham had given Lambourn the lead with lee simpson equalising for Fairford. Tytherington Rocks appear to be finding their form with a 4-0 win over new college Swindon. Justin Bishop, Joe White, Jason Wood and Dale Emery were all on target for The Rocks.. North leigh Reserves overcame Letcome 4-2 with goals from Gareth Beale (2), Jozef Fullerton and Ryan Moore. Adam Bruce scored both Letcombe goals. Old Woodstock Town went down 1-2 at home to Cricklade Town. Danny Bone had given Woodstock the lead but two second half goals from Ben carter and Adam O’Bree were enough for Cricklade to take the points back to Wiltshire. Purton had a bad day at the office at home to leaders Brimscombe and Thrupp losing 1-6. Gary Probert set Brimscombe on their way with further goals coming from Matt Green, Lee Pritchard, Craig Cole (2) and an own goal. Dave Gee scored Purton’s goal.

Division 1 East:

AFC Hinksey continue to enjoy life in the Uhlsport Hellenic League winning 7-0 against Chinnor. Leading the way with a hat trick was Sean Flaherty, Ryan Macer (2), Marlon James and Triston Lawrence were also on target. Bracknell town beat Easington Sports 3-2 with goals from Tom Barrett, Wayne Carter and Reece Jacques. Ben Milner scored twice Easington. Didcot Town resrves beat Penn & Tylers Green 4-2 with Lewis Noble scoring a hat trick together with a goal from Gavin Mackie. Chris hurst scored both of Penn & Tylers goals. Maidenhead Utd Reserves and Headington Amateurs drew 1-1. Ashley Watson scoring for Maidenhead with paul Hedger replying for Headington. The Rayners Lane goal machine rumbles on its merry way with a 7-2 defeat of Milton Utd. On this occasion Rayners shared the goals around a bit with Jordan Sullivan, Ryan upton, Lawrence Yaku, Simeon Mitchell, Liam Hind and Shakir Agada (2) all on the scoresheet. Jordan Parker (2) scored for Milton. Finchampstead won 2-1 at Thatcham Town Reserves with goals from Sam Dunn and harry Swabey with Robert Clare scoring for Thatcham. Woodley Town beat Chalfont Wasps 1-0 with Duncan Canwell scoring the only goal of the match.
