Thame United are on the road again this weekend as they head to Hertfordshire to face Hitchin Town in the Pitching In Southern League Central Division One. This is the last game of the season and its all to play for with a play off place for Thame in their own hands, avoid defeat and the team will finish in fifth place, that would also be the case if Hertford fail to win in their final game away at Aylesbury United. Hitchin will be hoping to bounce back to step three at the first time of asking and have already secured second place in the league after their 2 - 0 away victory at London Lions on Wednesday night and will have a home tie in the Play off semi final on Wednesday the 29 April. Depending on results on the final day their opponents could be one of Thame, Biggleswade Town or Hertford Town. When the two teams met at the ASM Stadium back in October it was a comfortable 4 - 0 victory for the visitors. Thame come into this game on the back of a good home win against fellow play off rivals by 3 - 0, and were good value for the result, and bounced back from two previous defeats that looked to have damaged their play off ambitions. Thame will have the added problem of coming up against the team with the best defences record in the league this season only conceding thirty two goals. This will be an intriguing match and could possibly be a dress rehearsal for the play of semi final next week.
