Mother Nature assists leaders
In the Pitching In Southern League Division One Central, Mother Nature claimed an assist for leaders, Bedford Town as their game against AFC Dunstable was abandoned with them trailing 1-0.
There was another defeat for North Leigh as they went down 2-1 at Hertford Town but they remain in second place. Joseph Bennett put the home side in front early on and then Wilson Palomeque Bernal doubled their advantage in the opening exchanges of the second half. Within minutes, Lance Williams had reduced the arrears but it wasn’t enough for his side.
It was a six-goal thriller at Kidlington as they drew 3-3 with Waltham Abbey. Benjamin Baker fired the visitors into a top goal lead with a quick-fire double only for Felipe Bogo Barcelos to pull one back on the stroke of half-time. Ben Richards then equalised before Barcelos turned the scoreline around with his second of the afternoon. Prince Domafriyie popped up to grab a share of the spoils with three minutes to go.
An early goal from visitors, Barton Rovers, proved to be the wake-up call that Ware needed as they went on to run out 3-1 winners. It was Lucas Kirkpatrick who opened the scoring for Barton but that was cancelled out six minutes later by Liam Dulson. With their tails up, Ramiah Mills put Ware in front and Stefanos Georgiou added a third ten minutes from the break.
Cirencester Town ran out commanding 3-0 victors over Hadley with Jake Lee opening the scoring in the first half before Nicholas Peare and Reegan Messenger hit two goals in quick succession midway through the second period.
The day’s other game saw Biggleswade Town recover from a goal down to beat Aylesbury United 2-1.
The other three games were all postponed due to the wet weather.
