Thame United are on the road this Saturday when they make the trip to Hertfordshire to face Potters Bar in the Pitching In Southern League Division One Central.It will be the first time the two sides have met in a competitive match.

After seven seasons at Step 3 in the Isthmian Premier League, Potters Bar, or the Scholars as they are known, were relegated at the end of the 2025/26 season and placed in the Southern League Central Division.
The side currently sit in third place, with 23 points from 13 games, having recorded six wins, five draws and two defeats. Last time out, they earned a 2-2 draw away at Beaconsfield and are now on a run of five games unbeaten.

The Scholars’ danger men in front of goal are Andrew Bennett and Alex Wall, who have scored 13 goals between them, with both players having recorded hat-tricks.

Meanwhile, having played five games fewer than the Scholars, Thame sit in 15th place with 13 points from eight games. After two successive defeats, Thame got back to winning ways on Saturday, coming from behind to secure a 2-1 victory over Welwyn Garden City, with Harry Alexander scoring both goals. That took his total to 12 goals in all competitions this season.

However, there was disappointing news on Tuesday night, with the home game against Biggleswade FC postponed due to a waterlogged pitch.
Thame also announced two signings this week. Ethan Holt, a striker who was previously at AFC Dunstable, was kept out of the game for over a year by a long-term injury but has worked his way back to fitness.
George Cleveland, another striker, also arrived this week after leaving Aylesbury United last week.
