Thame United travel to Bedfordshire this Saturday to take on Stotfold FC in the Pitching In Southern League Central Division One. Last season there were two tough battles between the two sides, In February at The ASM Stadium, Stotfold raced into a 4 - 0 lead, with Thame coming back to draw thanks to two injury time goals, the following month it ended 2 - 2 at Stotfold with Thame taking the lead in first half injury time only to be pegged back in the second half. Stotfold finishing the season in a respectable mid table position after their second season at Step Four.
When the two teams met earlier in the season at the ASM, Stotfold were sitting four places and three points above Thame in the table, The home side dominated possession but couldn't break down a stubborn Stotfold defence, but eventually came out on top thanks to an 100 minute winner from Louis Walsh. As the two teams go into this Saturdays encounter Thame now eight places and nineteen points above Stotfold and are just outside the place off spots on goal difference but do have a game in hand, while Stotfold are sitting in fourteenth place, some fourteen points above the relegation zone so should be safe for another season. On the back of his five goals on Saturday Louis Walsh will be looking to add to his tally of 20 goals in all competitions this season, meanwhile Stotfolds leading scorer with 24 goals, Henry Snee has recently departed to move up the pyramid.
Kick Off at theJJ Stadium is 15:00
