Wingate from the Isthmian League Premier League would prove to be a formidable opponent on the day,
Thame had an early chance when Ollie Hogg’s long range effort went over the bar, but it was Wingate who were dominating play and Thame were on the back foot but defending well, until the 32 minute, when the visitors earned a corner and as the ball was cleared Wingate delivered the ball back into the box and a scrappy finish saw the ball go into the net, there was a hint off off side, as the referee had his flagged raised, but turns out it was indicated the ball had gone over the line. The visitors were good value for their half time 1 - 0 lead, as the home side had offered little in front of goal.
The second half began much as the first ended with Wingate on top, Thames first sub of the afternoon cam on 62 minutes when Ollie Hogg was replaced by Jefferson Louis, it wasn’t long before the visitors doubled there lead, a quick break on the right saw the ball played across the face of the goal and striker Obi slots the ball home on 65 minutes. almost immediately another break saw on the left, the ball was played across field and Geeogiou cut in onto his right and curled the ball past Keeper Crowther.
