Thame United vs Aylesbury Match Preview Tuesday 10 February

Martin Pacetti9 Feb - 13:13

Its Derby time as we a head to Chesham to face our nearest rivals.

Thame United hit the road again this Tuesday night when they travel to Chesham to face near neighbours Aylesbury United in the Pitching In Southern League Central Division One, this match was due to be played back on the 3 January but was postponed due to a frozen pitch and is the first meeting of the two teams this season. Last season the two teams met three times, twice in the league and in the Extra Preliminary round of the FA Cup, with Thame coming out on top on all three occasions without conceding a goal. This season, Aylesbury have seen a change of manager with Paul Batchelor taking the helm in October but the team are sitting six points above the relegation zone with the teams below them having games in hand and it looks like they will be one of four teams trying to avoid the two places in in the bottom four, with AFC Dunstable and Rayners Lane looking to be cut adrift at the bottom of the table. The form guide sees Aylesbury with only three wins in the last ten games and suffered an away defeat to Biggleswade FC in their last outing, and previous to that beaten by 0 - 3 at home to London Lions.

Meanwhile Thame continued their impressive run of form after a home draw against Barton Rovers they were supposed to be back in action on Tuesday night but the game against Welwyn Garden City was Postponed for the second time. Then on Saturday they were back to winning ways with an impressive 5 - 1 victory away to London Lions, and the score line flattered the home side with Thame totally dominant from start to finish. The win sees the side 9 unbeaten and have taken twenty three out of a possible thirty points in the last ten games and moves them up to six place in the table, one places off of the play off spots with games in hand. Thame have two inform forwards, with Harry Alexander on thirteen goals (which has beaten his total for last season) and Louis Walsh on twelve goals in all competitions this season

Kick Off at the meadow is 19:45
