Thame United vs Biggleswade Town Match Preview 18 April

Thame United vs Biggleswade Town Match Preview 18 April

Martin Pacetti17 Apr - 07:07

All to play for at the ASM this Saturday

We are now at the business end of the season, with only two weekends to go, but a number of outcomes have already been decided, Leighton Town wrapped up the league at the weekend just gone and were crowned champions, Hitchin Town have confirmed a play off space and will almost certainly finish second and have home advantage in the play off semi final. Biggleswade FC will more than likely finish in third and also have home advantage in the play off semi final. This match has significant impact on the remaining play off spots with Biggleswade Town in fourth place five points behind third place and four points ahead of Thame who are in fifth place. Thame continue to hold the last play off spot three points ahead of Hertford Town and five ahead of Ware, but have not made it easy for themselves after defeats against Aylesbury at home and Welwyn Garden City away at the weekend, so they now need to match Hertford's results in the last two matches to remain in the play off spots, and with we an inferior goal difference, to the teams in the top six, need the points to maintain a play off spot. Both teams are on an indifferent run of form with Thame ninth and the Waders as they are referred to in tenth spot with both teams suffering defeats in their last six matches. The two teams met earlier in the season with Thame coming away with a one nil victory thanks to a late Greg Hackett goal. There are lots of scenarios from this weekends matches that could play out, but only a Thame win or Draw and Hertford defeat would settle the top six this weekend, but there is also a possibility of the remaining play off spot being decided on the final game weekend of the season and with three teams all having a chance.
