Thame United vs Hadley FC Match Preview 24 March

Martin Pacetti23 Mar - 14:45

Midweek under the lights as we welcome Hadley FC to the ASM

Thame United are back at home this Tuesday in the Pitching In Southern League Central Division One, as Hadley FC are the visitors to The ASM Stadium. This game was due to be played on 29 November at the ASM but was postponed due to a waterlogged pitch. Then again in February was postponed due to a waterlogged pitch. The two teams met at the start of September on the back of Thame not winning a game in August it became four losses on the trot after going down 4 - 3. A game in which Thame didn’t help themselves giving away an injury time goal in the first half then two early second half goals to go 4 - 1 behind and a strong finish wasn’t enough to get anything out of the game.

Since then Thame have gone onto lift themselves from the bottom of the league to six place while Hadley have struggled to hit the heights of last season which saw them finish in the play off places one place and three points above their opponents. After that victory Hadley were sitting in the play off spots in the early table and are now in eleventh place some sixteen points behind Thame. a dramatic turnaround in form from both teams.

The two teams were neck and neck for most of last season both pushing for the play off spots an early season loss at Hadley by 3 - 0 was followed up in March by an entertaining 4 -4 draw at the ASM with Thame coming back from three goals down and fought back to go four goals to three up only for a late equaliser for Hadley. With Hadley finally finishing in the play off spots, going on to loose in the semi final to Berkhamstead.

Hadley have been on a poor run of form not winning in the last six games but did have a good result in their last match with a good 2 - 2 away draw at inform Welwyn Garden City, Meanwhile Thame are unbeaten in the last five games but performances in the last three have been a little off the pace and although coming through the last game against ten men Rayners Lane it was a last minute winner from Charlie Stow that snatched the win. This is Thames game in hand over Hertford town so any result will see them climb into the play off spots.

Kick off at The ASM Stadium is 19:45
