It's back on the road for Thame United with the first of three away games before Christmas.

Thame United are back in Pitching In Southern League Central Division One action this weekend, as they make their furthest away trip of the season, when they travel to Woodside Park to take on Ware FC, this will be the first of three away trips before Christmas for the Red Kites, who also travel to Biggleswade FC and Marlow. This is the first meeting between the two teams this season despite Ware already at the half way stage with the number of games played. Last season Thame did the double over this weekends opponents winning on the season opening day at Ware by three goals to two, which was Ware's first opening day home defeat since introduction to the Southern League and then in October there was a more comfortable 4 - 0 win at The ASM Stadium, goals from Greg Hackett, Harry Alexander and two from Mark Riddick secured victory.

Its been a better start to the 2025/2026 for Ware currently sitting one place outside the play off spots in sixth place on 36 points, and are fairing a lot better than their tenth place finish last season. Meanwhile Thame in twelfth place on 28 points but have three games in hand on this Saturdays opponents, so victory will be important for both teams. Thame willl come into the fixture in confident move after scoring six goals at home to Northwood at the weekend with five different scorers and Greg Hackett with a brace joining Louis Walsh as leading scorers. While Ware will come into the match winning their last two games to Milton Keynes Irish and Flackwell Heath without conceding in the process, with their danger man likely to be Reece Beckles-Richards with thirteen goals in all competitions this season. With Ware playing in their traditional home kit of Blue and white, Thame will be playing in their Red and Black kit

GROUND & DIRECTIONS
If you come through the town either by car or walking from the train station, Wodson Park sports centre is on the northern outskirts of the town on the A1170. The entrance to the sports centre is on the right just beyond the summit of a long hill. The 331 bus stops outside the entrance. Coming from the south by car on the A10 you need to come off at the junction for the A1170. The slip road takes a sharp left turn to a roundabout. Take the first exit which carries you over the A10 and to another roundabout. Go straight over this and the entrance to Wodson Park is 100m on the left. Coming from the north by car on the A10 you need to come off at the junction for the A1170. The slip road brings you to a roundabout. Take the second major road exit and the entrance to Wodson Park is 100m on the left.

The football club is to the left of Wodson Park Sports Centre.
