Thame United First Team put the midweek defeat behind them as they earned a hard fought victory over Biggleswade FC in the Pitching In Southern League Central Division One. It was the proverbial game of two half’s for the for 50 minutes of the game Thame really struggled to get into the game, going behind after 14 minutes after conceding a penalty and then two minutes after the break went two nil down, from a corner. Then came the fightback, a change of formation, some good fortune and some determined defending saw the three points come back to Oxfordshire. Dan West pulled a goal back on 61 minutes, when his shot come cross took a deflection over the keepers head, on 76 minutes Brayden Daniel charged down a defenders clearance and the rebound flew goal bound past the stranded keeper. Then 3 minutes later good work on the left from Greg Hackett, crossed the ball into the Biggleswade box, for Brayden to run onto ball and his first time shot beat the keeper, the team showed great character to turn around the game and come away with the victory.
Thame United A were in Uhlsports Hellenic League Division Two East action when they travelled to Aston Clinton to face Aston Clinton sports. Thame going down by 4 - 2, but remain in third place in the table.
In the Aylesbury and District League after last weeks President League Cup exit, Thame United B suffered another cup exit, this time losing to Division Two side Plough Pengiuns, in the Marsworth Senior Cup. Neither team were able to find the net in normal time or extra time and the game went to penalties, with Plough Penguins progressing to the next round winning the shoot out 4 - 2.
On Sunday Thame United Women were in cup action when they took on Longford Park FC Vixens from Division 3 North in the Thame Valley Counties League Cup. It was a good day for Thame progressing to the next round with a convincing 5 - 1 victory, goals from Yasmin Williams with two, a debut goal from Emma Leitch, and one from India Cox and an own goal secured the win.
