United were on the wrong end of a 4-0 scoreline at Wantage Town as they failed to take their chances.

The home side made the perfect start when Butler's cross was met at the far post by Richie Guy who fired home his fifth of the season. Pedder and Malton combined well soon after but Pedder's shot was well over as Wantage dominated early on. Steve Howe kept the scores level on the 16 minute mark with a fine diving stop to deny Louis Cordice. Jimmy Deabill headed over when well placed from Guy's cross on the half hour. Howe was called into action again this time with a double save from Niall Hodgkins and Wantage took full advantage by making it 2 nil right on half time. Robbie Sadler's superb corner was back headed in by Richie Guy for his and the Freds 2nd of the night.

Davis replaced Lachacz at half time and the 2nd half was a pretty low key affair until the last 15 minutes. Prior to that Davis' corner nearly floated in early on in the half but there was little of note being created. Austin replaced Guy on the hour but it wasn't until Deabill was replaced by Andy Younie on 75 minutes that the game burst into action. The hardworking Pedder(pictured) broke away down the right and put in a fine cross which Younie fired in with his first touch. Quite an impact! Melledew struck the post with 3 minutes to go and then Younie showed he wasn't finished with super sub duties as Wantage wrapped up the points with a fourth. Andy Younie following up Tom Austin's effort for his brace.
