A message from the Club Welfare Officer

Dear Players and Parents

Given the recent headlines which are continuing to appear regarding potential child welfare cases in football at all levels of the game, I thought it important, as Club Welfare Officer, to highlight the steps which we take at Thame Boys Youth & Girls FC in this area.

We have already established practices and procedures based on the FA and NSPCC best practice guidance. All managers, coaches and helpers involved at all age groups
from U6 to U17 are required to have:
a Criminal Records Check (CRC) from the FAs CRC unit, and completed the FAs Safeguarding Children workshop. Both of these must be maintained up to date as required by the FA.

Anyone who has any concerns about the welfare of a child or the behaviour of an adult towards a child or young person under 18 years of age in football can contact any of the following:
James Morris CWO in confidence on 07713 723 689 or email me at ejpmorris@gmail.com
The County Welfare Officer at Oxfordshire FA - email safeguarding@oxfordshirefa.com or
the FA directly at safeguarding@thefa.com.

Regards

James Morris
