James McGowan, who was unavailable for the midweek draw at Barton Rovers, came back in to the side at Centre Back, with Adam Morris assuming a Central Midfield role for Ben Sturgess.

The first half followed a similar pattern to the match at Barton, with United on the front foot and the dominant attacking force. Indeed, the first chance came after only three minutes when the ball was slipped in to Dan West, who played a ball down the side to Lynton Goss, who lost his footing as he was about to shoot and the ball went wide. On 9 minutes, man-of-the-match Harry Mepham received the ball in space and saw his curling effort just clear the bar whilst, a minute later David Lynn fed the ball through to West whose effort curled narrowly wide.

The pressure continued and, on 14 minutes, a counter-attack saw Nick Harrison feed the ball through to Goss, who turned the defender inside out only for the defender to get a desperate block on a goal-bound shot. Goss then saw another effort saved on 21 minutes before Uxbridge had their best opportunity of the half when a cross from the right was headed down towards the corner of the goal only for Craig Hill to tip the ball around the post.

The only goal of the match arrived for United on 24 minutes. Mepham created space on the left and whipped the ball in to the box where West crashed a shot in to the net off the underside of the bar from ten yards. It was no less than United deserved for a strong opening and, on 33 minutes, Morris fed the ball through to Goss who, in turn , delivered a pass to Ben Connelly only for the shot on goal to be blocked. The final chance of the half came on 44 minutes when Goss found himself in space but the effort just cleared the bar.

If the opening 45 minutes belonged to United, the visitors had the better of the second period with Hill saving a free-kick from 25-yards on 53 minutes, before opportunities for the visitors were off target in both the 67th and 72nd minutes. Hill then grabbed the ball at the second attempt on 78 minutes as Uxbidge maintained the pressure. However, despite the possession and increasing pressure, Uxbridge were unable to really test Hill and, unlike recent games where United conceded equalising goals in injury time, the side held firm to collect a valuable three points and a win that moved the side up to 14th in the table.
