Making their first trip away from the ASM Stadium of the season, United returned from Royal Wootton Basset with three points..

After fielding a relatively unchanged side for the opening three games of the season, manager Mark West made changes for this fixture, bringing in Matt Johnston alongside Derek Feyi at the back, with Ken Feyi starting up front.

The first chance of the game fell to United’s Tom Ashworth in the second minute when his drive from the edge of the box went just wide. Two minutes later and Henry Craven in the Thame goal was forced to make a save in what ultimately proved to be a relatively quiet opening half for the visiting keeper.

The next clear opportunity came on 14 minutes when a Dan West free-kick was spilled by the keeper, with a follow-up effort from Lynton Goss coming back off the post. Ashworth then went close again with a drive over the bar on 34 minutes, before the opening goal arrived on 36 minutes. A ball in to the box was met by a flicked header from Ken Feyi, with the ball arching over the on-rushing keeper and in to the back of the net.

That it is how it remained for the rest of the first half, with United then creating two clear opportunities to extend the lead in the opening five minutes of the second half. First a Derek Feyi header from a Goss corner went over the bar, before a Luke Ricketts effort from close range was smothered by the home keeper.

The home side then had a period of possession but Craven was rarely threatened, with the only efforts on goal generally going wide. With 10 minutes to go United extended the lead. Goss collected the ball in his own half before going on a mazy run to the edge of the box, where he exchanged passes with Feyi, before drilling the ball in to the bottom corner. Dan West then made it 3-0 with three minutes to go with a delightful free kick from 25 yards. There were still chances for United to extend the lead but, as it was, the game finished 3-0 as United maintained their 100% record and returned to the top of the table on goal difference.
