Mike Higgs came in for Nick Bennion in goal, whilst James Faulkner, who re-signed for the Club last weekend, replaced the ill Aaron Rogers up-front.
Whilst the first few minutes were relatively even, Nomads started to get the upper hand and, had they shown greater composure in front of goal, could have been well ahead in the first quarter of the game as three decent opportunities fell to Skendi in the Thame box. As it was United breathed a further sigh of relief after 23 minutes with Higgs bringing down McDonagh for a penalty that, thankfully, did not stand as McDonagh was ruled off-side. The let off saw Thame create their best period of pressure, as Faulkner created a chance out of nothing, turning on the edge of the box and seeing his left foot drive come back off the bar with the home keeper well beaten. United took the lead after half an hour when Ricketts floated across a corner from the left that the keeper, unchallenged, managed to somehow drop over the line. The lead, however, last only three minutes as former Thame player, Jermaine Ferreira, worked the ball to the bye-line and his cross was met decisively by Pablo Haysham. For the remainder of the half Thame pressed Nomads in to their own half but were unable to create any opportunities.
Straight from the kick off Nomads had a great opportunity to take the lead, when Haysam played the ball through to McDonagh, who went around Higgs before pushing his shot wide from an acute angle. Nomads finally went ahead in the 57th minute when a cross from Carbon was met by Morris whose effort hit the post and was finished off by Ferrreira. Five minutes later and Nomads were further ahead, as Skendi finished off from a McDonagh cross. United got back in to the game with ten minutes to go when Faulkner was fouled just inside the box by Thomas and Alex Stewart powerfully struck home the resulting penalty giving the keeper no chance. United pressed forward looking for the equaliser and, for the first time in the game, the home defence struggled under pressure. However, the United pushing men forward, they were caught on the counter-attack with virtually the last move of the game, when Moses finished well from another McDonagh cross.
