Playing with the slope in the first half, United had a good opportunity after 15 minutes when a through ball from Dan West put Loius Cordice away on goal. Cordice took the ball in to the area, but his powerful shot from 12 yards was just wide of the target. Wokingham responded and could have taken the lead themselves five minutes later, when Thame keeper Mike Higgs did well to push a goal bound effort on to the post and away for a corner. For the remainder of the half the game ebbed and flowed, with Wokingham creating the clearer opportunities, but the games was scoreless at half time.
United opened the start of the second half in the ascendancy and this continued for much of the half. Cordice and Faulkner started to find space in the channels, and United nearly took the lead ten minutes in to the half when, following a cleared corner, Connor Hayes struck a half volley from 25 yards that the keeper did well to push around the post. Shortly afterwards, United took the lead. Cordice chased a long ball in to the left hand corner before quickly turning and delivering a pinpoint cross that, despite the attention of three defenders, was met by the head of Dan West who placed his header low in to the bottom corner. Wokingham almost got back in to the game shortly afterwards, when Higgs did well to tip a goal bound header over the bar. As it was, United extended the lead with 15 minutes to go. A quick break from their own half saw Dan West put Cordice through on goal again and this time the striker finished clinically, low to the keepers right, to give United victory and the double over Wokingham and Emmbrook.
